20. Keeping Your Data Safe and Secure: Understanding Hit2b's Retention and Deletion Practices

At Hit2b, we take your privacy seriously. We only store your personal information for as long as it's legally necessary and allowed by law. This section will explain how long we typically keep your data and what factors influence that timeframe.

Deleting Your Account:

  • Immediate Disappearance: Once you delete your Hit2b account, your profile will no longer be visible within the app within seconds. This means other users won't be able to find or see your profile.

  • 28-Day Restoration Window: We understand mistakes happen! If you accidentally delete your account, you'll have a 28-day grace period to restore it and pick up right where you left off.

Data Deletion Process:

After the 28-day restoration window closes, we'll begin the process of deleting your personal information from our systems. However, there are some exceptions where we might need to retain certain data:

  • Legal Obligations: In some cases, the law requires us to keep your information for a specific period. For example, if you made purchases within the app, we might need to retain some data for tax and accounting purposes.

  • Compliance Records: If your account was blocked for violating Hit2b's policies, we might need to keep some information as evidence to answer any future questions or legal claims related to the block.

  • Unresolved Issues: If there's an outstanding issue, claim, or dispute related to your account, we may need to retain relevant information until it's resolved.

  • Security and Fraud Prevention: To maintain a safe and secure environment for all users, we might need to keep some information for a longer period. This could include data that helps us prevent banned users from creating new accounts or identify and address potential fraud.

Important Note: Even after you delete information from your profile or your entire Hit2b account, copies of that data might still be accessible in a few scenarios:

  • Previously Shared Information: If you shared your information with other users before deletion, they may still have copies of those messages or details.

  • Third-Party Access: If you granted access to your Hit2b information through third-party apps or websites, they might retain that data according to their own privacy policies and terms of service. Hit2b has no control over these practices.

We Recommend:

  • Be mindful of what information you share on your Hit2b profile.

  • Review the privacy policies of any third-party apps or websites before granting them access to your Hit2b information.

Transparency is Important:

We hope this detailed explanation clarifies how Hit2b handles your data retention and deletion. If you have further questions or want more specific information about our data safeguards, feel free to contact our Data Protection Officer at contact@hit2b.com
